Salmon Cove Point Lighthouse

Salmon Cove Point is situated at the end of a peninsula that seperates Harbour Main and Gasters Bay. Due to growing marine traffic in and around Conception Bay, a lighthouse was erected at the point in 1908.

The light was rectangular, painted white, built from wood, and stood around 7.3 metres tall with a focal height of 32 metres.

The tower was automated in 1931 and had its light changed to a fixed white beacon. It remained standing through the 1950s and was demolished sometime thereafter. Today, the site is occupied by a modern navigation light.
